Introduction to typography and design elements. A look at the work of the Guerrilla Girls.
Lab Part 1: Using typography to express and change meaning.
Lab Part 2:
Kickstarter campaign preparation continued. Going over minimum $ goal. Sponsorship levels. Sponsorship perks. Begin writing project description and planning script for video.

Week 3
Lecture: Exploring text as design. A further look at the work of the Guerrilla Girls.
Lab Part 1: Designing with text. Getting the message across.
Lab Part 2:
Kickstarter campaign preparation continued. Finalize text, shoot/edit video, record/edit audio as needed.

Week 4
Lecture:
Designing with text and image. A final look at the work of the Guerrilla Girls.
Lab Part 1/2:
Launch Kickstarter campaign! (Week 1 of 4) Send out emails, post on facebook.

Week 5
Lecture:
Principles of Design
Lab Part 1: Work on Kickstarter campaign outreach 

Lab Part 2: Designing with image + text; looking at your own images through the eyes of the principles of design.

Week 6
Lecture:
Introduction to InDesign
Lab Part 1: Kickstarter campaign outreach and updates (Week 3 of 4) 

Lab Part 2: Setting up InDesign files for book layout and starting with book cover (Week 1 of 4)

Week 7
Lecture: Writing a statement/introduction, your artist bio, and acknowledgements.
Lab Part 1: Work on artist statement/introduction, bio, and acknowledgements. Continue designing

Lab Part 2: Final push for Kickstarter campaign! (Week 4 of 4)

Week 8
Lecture: Staying in touch with your supporters.
Lab Part 1:
End of Kickstarter campaign. Feedback and discussion.
Lab Part 2: Enter text into layout. Print first draft of layout (Week 3 of 4). Make revisions.

Week 9
Lecture:
Pre-flight.
Lab Part 1:
Make final revisions to layout. Go to print. (Week 4 of 4)
Lab Part 2: Send out update/progress report to Kickstarter campaign supporters.

Week 10

Lecture: Future possibilities.
Lab Part 1:
Go to print if late.
Lab Part 2: Begin fulfilling perks owed for Kickstarter campaign supporters.

Week 11
Final presentations.
